here are different opportunities to work with Ranchlands as seasonal staff, Ranchlands Guild apprentices, internships, or volunteers. These positions are available in ranch operations, guest operations, leather craft, marketing, conservation, social media, film and media, and mechanical engineering. Housing is provided on site. Strictly no pets permitted for any of these positions.

Leathershop Internship

Ranchlands is seeking a six-month intern for our leathershop. A background or proven interest in handicrafts is favored. Basic leather skills a bonus, but not essential.


Horsemanship Internship

Ranchlands is looking for an experienced life long rider who would like to develop the skills to train and start young horses. Training experience not required as we will teach you. The internship is a 6 month commitment. Begins Sept 1st 2018.


Assistant Cook

Zapata Ranch is looking for an Assistant cook. Mid August through October. No professional experienced required but must have a passion for food, be organized, able to work alone and with the creative and lovely head chef. We live remotely so the position fits someone who likes exploring the great outdoors in their free time.


Guest Program Intern

Zapata Ranch is looking for one or two Guest Program Interns.
August through October. Join the Zapata team to learn a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.


Ranch Internships

Ranchlands is seeking six-month ranch interns to work on one of our very remote, large-scale working ranches. Preferred applicants will have some relevant experience or proven interest in a related field, at least intermediate riding skills, and must be prepared to live up to three hours from the nearest grocery store. The internship will provide a hands-on experience in all operations, from fencing and digging pipe lines to moving cattle and participating in grazing planning. This is a great gateway to a ranch apprenticeship for the right candidate.
